We encourage all parents to take an active role in their child’s education, and we offer many opportunities to visit, observe, learn and volunteer. We also believe the Montessori method shouldn’t end with the school day, and strive to help parents continue the learning in all aspects of their child’s life.
OurKids Montessori’s amazing community of families and friends has enabled our success and growth, and most of all, given our children access to a world-class education in a beautiful and nurturing setting. Parents and community members are encouraged to participate in our program in a variety of ways, from sharing a special interest or skill with the students, writing an article for our newsletter, or speaking at an event at or for our school. Your gifts of time, talent and treasure allow us to strengthen current programs, implement program enhancements, and create a physical and natural environment that inspires a love of learning and discovery.
Some of the ways you can become involved in the school include:
Parent Teacher Organization
The mission of the OurKids Montessori School Parent Teacher Organization is to promote and enhance the school’s mission through a cooperative fellowship between children, parents, and staff. The organization is to be a vehicle through which parents have the opportunity to become an active part of the school community.
The objectives of the PTO are:
- assist in the facilitation of parent volunteer activities within and outside of the school day,
- heighten community visibility,
- facilitate projects that serve the greater community,
- facilitate communications among families interested in further school involvement and the school faculty,
- sponsor school events that serve as fund raisers for the school.
Volunteer Activities
The mission of the Parents may volunteer their time to help us out in the class rooms, on field trips, and in the organization of school-sponsored events. We are always on the lookout for your involvement and support. Stay tuned to our calendar and subscribe to our newsletter for updates. Please contact our PTO President for more information and to learn more about volunteer opportunities.
Thank you for your unwavering support of the school and please don’t forget to find us on Facebook!
